FURR the MEOWst fun, make some cookies that look like your Kitty! Here's the MEOW to:
What you need:
Cat-shaped cookie cutter
1 cup butter, softened (equivalent to 2 sticks)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 large eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Ornamental Frosting, sprinkles, sixlets, and any other decorative fun!

Next beat in eggs and vanilla until mixed, lastly beat in flour mixture just until blended, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula.
2 Preheat oven to 350°F. On lightly floured surface, with floured rolling pin, roll dough until slightly less than 1/4 inch thick. using your CAT-shaped cookie cutters, cut dough into as many cookies as possible; reserve trimmings. Place cookies, 1 inch apart, on two ungreased large cookie sheets.
3 Bake until edges are golden, 12 to 15 minutes, rotating cookie sheets between upper and lower oven racks halfway through. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining dough.
4 When cookies are cool, it’s time for the FUN! There are many ways you can decorate a cookie! I PURRsonally like to slather frosting on the top and add different color “sixlets” for the eyes and nose! You can get as creative as you like, adding sprinkles and crushed candy canes!
The only RULE is to have FUN!
Enjoy the process and share with your FURRiends! Happy Baking! and Merry Catmas!

Why write a children's book?
There are so many reasons I wrote this. The world needs a sweet story about hope, belonging, inclusivity, community, and caring for others. Additionally, the very candid truth is that I got divorced the winter of 2016 after eleven years of marriage. I founded a company with my ex-husband and as creator of the brand I had involved reindeer to make it fun. I poured my soul into it, as any artist does, and when I walked away from it the loss was weighing heavily on my heart. It felt like a death of a dream. So I said to God "I'm really sad right now, and I am feeling angry at all the reindeer decorations. I love Christmas and don't want to feel this way." The next day I woke up with this idea. In a way for me, it's "redeeming the reindeer." I have always been a writer and continuously work on projects. There is so much redemption in life if we just look for it and are open to new PAWsibilities :)
